This website is dedicated to all practicing pathologists eager to know a little bit more about the placenta.

The placenta is such a fascinating temporary organ that deserves more attention. This website/educational blog will explore and explain the most common problems with grossing and interpreting placental pathology.
I am forever grateful to my mentors Dr. Rebecca Baergen (Weill Cornell Medical College) and Dr. Cynthia Kaplan (Stony Brook University School of Medicine) for sparking my interest and love for the placenta and for their indefinite patience for teaching.
